Bad Luck Finds Us All
You know the old saying, if it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have any luck at all! Well we had nothing but bad luck this past weekend at Southern National Motorsports Park.
We unloaded and the car was still 1/2 a second off the pace. We changed the jets and put some 110 race fuel in and still no response on the power side. One of our competitors was nice enough to loan us their spare motor. So after a mad thrash to swap it out before the feature we got it in. The fuel pump in it was bad so we had to troubleshoot that down and swap it out. Finally it was running.
For the feature, Dustin was to start 7th out of 8 cars. As luck would have it, he took the green flag and the car just shut off and wouldn’t do anything. Wouldn’t turn over. Wouldn’t even make a click. I figured I was going to owe our competitor a motor. While pulling the motor out, we found the positive battery cable had got on the header and melted to it. This of course grounded out the whole system so it wouldn’t do anything.
We are in the process of trying to find a motor so we can race next weekend (August 2nd). If any body knows anyone who may be able to help us get a motor in exchange for some advertising, please pass it along.
We would also like to thank those that came out last week to watch Dustin race. We apologize for not getting to see him actually race but your support means more than you know. If I remember right, there was about 20 people there to support him. Hopefully, that crowd continues to grow. We are working on a surprise for those that come out to the next race. We are trying to show our appreciation for you choosing to support us.
